Family Bouldering

Fridays 4:30 & 5:15p
Families, learn the basics needed to start climbing together!
- 30 minutes of instruction, followed by open gym time
- free for members, $35 for non-members
This class is a one-on-one experience for one adult and one child. We structured it in a way to inspire adults and kids to work in pairs. Students learn essential climbing skills by watching their partners climb and taking turns on the same problem.
In this class, families will learn:
- How to fall correctly
- How to prevent injuries in the gym
- Important climbing etiquette: interacting with other climbers
- What a bouldering problem is and how to recognize it
- How our problems/boulders are graded
- Basic technique
A class can accomodate up to 2 family pairs total (4 students).
We cannot accommodate one adult with two kids.
Minors must be accompanied by a supervising adult.
Once you've taken the class, join our Family Fridays, drop-in time for HMB Members and alumni families to climb together and socialize with a floating instructor.
